Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Optional: sliced pickles or jalapeños for topping

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and bell pepper, sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  4. Add ground chicken, cook until no longer pink, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  5. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Cajun seasoning, and smoked paprika.
  6. Season with salt and pepper, reduce heat, and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  7. Serve the mixture on toasted hamburger buns with optional toppings.
