Ingredients

  • 1 (30 oz) bag frozen shredded hash browns, thawed
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups crushed cornflakes
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together hash browns, 1/2 cup melted butter, soup, sour cream, onion, cheese, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix crushed cornflakes with 1/4 cup melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over the casserole.
  5. Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes, until hot and bubbly and the top is golden brown.
