Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/4 lb shrimp, shelled, deveined, and chopped
  • 2 tablespoons chopped scallions
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • A dash of ground white pepper
  • 1 package wonton wrappers
  • Water for sealing the wrappers
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground pork, chopped shrimp, scallions, egg, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and white pepper.
  2. Mix thoroughly until the filling is well combined.
  3. Place a small spoonful of filling in the center of a wonton wrapper.
  4. Dip your finger in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper.
  5. Fold the wrapper into a triangle and press to seal tightly, removing any air.
  6. Heat oil in a deep fryer or deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Fry the wontons in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve with sweet chili sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
