Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped dill pickles
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup pickle juice
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Stir in cheddar cheese, pickles, and dill until evenly distributed.
  4. In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, pickle juice, egg, and melted butter until smooth.
  5. Pour wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined—do not overmix.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
