Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
While pasta cooks, melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Drain pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
Add cooked pasta to the skillet with garlic, then add remaining butter.
Toss to coat and gradually stir in the Parmesan cheese, adding pasta water as needed to create a silky sauce.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with more Parmesan and parsley if desired. Serve immediately.
