Easy Homemade Mozzarella Sticks

Ingredients

  • 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Cut mozzarella sticks in half and freeze for at least 1 hour.
  2. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs and milk, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with seasonings.
  3. Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, dip in the egg mixture, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Repeat the coating process for extra crispiness.
  5. Freeze breaded mozzarella sticks for another 30 minutes.
  6. Heat vegetable oil in a pan to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Fry mozzarella sticks in batches for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with marinara sauce.
