Ingredients

  • 5 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons instant yeast
  • 1 3/4 cups warm water (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 3 cups of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm water and oil to the dry ingredients and stir until well combined.
  3. Add remaining flour, one cup at a time, until the dough pulls away from the bowl and is soft but not sticky.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-6 minutes until smooth.
  5. Divide dough in half, shape into loaves and place each into a greased loaf pan.
  6. Cover with a towel and let rise in a warm place for 25 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Remove from pans and cool on a wire rack.
