Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Cook the egg noodles according to package directions; drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula.
Drain excess grease and stir in tomato sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, and basil. Simmer for 5 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream and cottage cheese.
Layer half of the cooked noodles in the prepared baking dish, followed by half of the sour cream mixture and half of the beef mixture.
Repeat the layers, then top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
