Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup Fruity Pebbles cereal (plus extra for topping)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk (more if needed)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed, then fold in the Fruity Pebbles cereal.
  5. Spoon the batter into the donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  9. Dip cooled donuts into the glaze, then sprinkle with extra Fruity Pebbles cereal.
