Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 cup mixed dried fruits
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract and milk.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  6. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
  7. Fold in dried fruits and nuts.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Cool before slicing and serving.
