Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, cheese, condiments (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to 225°F.
  2. Form the ground beef into 4 equal-sized patties. Make a small indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing.

  4. Place the patties directly on the smoker grate and smoke for 60–90 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 135°F for medium doneness.
  5. If adding cheese, place it on top during the last 10 minutes of smoking.
  6. Toast hamburger buns if desired.
  7. Assemble burgers with your favorite toppings and serve immediately.
